Camp Gilmont Outdoor School (CGOS) is the place where students are immersed in a real-world outdoor classroom.

Hands-on activities stimulate the imagination, develop a curiosity about life, and reveal a new world of education that most students never knew existed.

CGOS is modeled after Camp Tyler’s 50+ year quality educational programs.  Visit www.camptyler.org.

There are 2 Outdoor School Experiences to choose from:  The Residential Program for fifth grade or Day Programs for grades K-5.  Curriculum is rich with grade-level appropriate TEA required field experiences.

All scientific equipment is provided by Camp Gilmont.  Each Outdoor School activity is correlated to the state TAKS objectives.  GOS staff members deliver the program, working closely with the classroom teacher to make classroom connections.

The Outdoor School experience is filled with benefits to students and teachers,  as is clear in their evaluations of the program.

Outdoor School at Camp Gilmont was a great learning experience.   I'd be happy to speak with other districts who are considering outdoor school for their students.”

“Thank you for all the great opportunities for me to enjoy my students in an environment outside the four walls of my classroom.  We all will remember this experience for a lifetime.”  Penny Precopia, Pinewood Park Elementary
